COVID-19 Minimum Standards of Safe Practice

Effective May 1, 2020:

In response to the recent health crisis, our practice is instituting the following guidelines in compliance with the Texas Medical Board:

  • Our waiting room will remain closed for the foreseeable future.

  • A mask must be worn by patients, physicians and physician delegates during all appointments, unless otherwise instructed.

  • Patients are allowed one companion at their appointment. All additional family members and guests in attendance will be asked to stay in the parking lot.

  • Patients are asked to call our office upon arrival - 210-616-0739. Please wait in the parking lot until one of our staff members can take you directly back to the treatment area.

  • Temperature checks are required upon arrival for all patients and their companions.

  • All patients are asked to respectfully follow screening and testing policies in correspondence with our office and the surgery centers with which our physicians operate.

  • All patients must be screened for potential symptoms of COVID-19 before any encounter with our physicians or staff.

  • Prior to care involving a medical procedure or surgery on the mucous membranes, including the respiratory tract, with a high risk of aerosol transmission, the minimum safety equipment used by physicians or physician delegates should include N-95 masks, or an equivalent protection from aerosolized particles, and face shields.

  • Telemedicine appointments will continue to be an option for patients with qualifying circumstances.

Our staff remains in close contact with all of our partners at hospitals and surgery centers around town to ensure that none of our patients are being put at risk.

Please note that we have been taking extra precautions at our Pond Hill location to mitigate any risk to our patients since the onset of COVID-19 and will continue to do so.

We have the distinct benefit of being located in an isolated office with very light through traffic, and our daily surgeries mainly take place at out-patient surgery centers with exceptional reputations for sanitation and cleanliness.

Please feel free to call our office to speak with one of our team members with any questions regarding upcoming appointments or procedures.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding with these new policies.

Kindest Regards,

Dr. Donald Hollsten, Dr. Jordan Hollsten,

and The Eye & Facial Plastic Specialists Team
